About the event
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Experience:
We’ve structured this afternoon to move you from "thinking" to "being":
• Part 1: Equine Facilitated Learning
We begin in the pasture with the horses. Through guided interaction, you’ll learn to regulate your nervous system and connect with the herd’s calm, intuitive presence.
• Part 2: Nature Art & Artistic Expression
With a grounded heart, we’ll forage the farm for ferns, leaves, and seasonal textures. You’ll arrange these finds on a 5x7 canvas, rolling paint over them to create a stunning "texture print" that captures the literal impression of the land.
Why Join Us?
• Grounding: Horses naturally help lower stress and bring us into the present moment.
• Creative Release: No "artistic skill" required—nature provides the patterns; you just provide the curiosity.
• The Keepsake: Take home a 5x7 canvas that holds a beautiful, textured memory of your time with the herd.
Please where clothing you do not mind getting paint on
Local artist Shelley Blain Reimer will guide the art-making process with playful, accessible techniques. No experience needed. Whether you’re drawn to glitter, natural texture or poetic symbolism, your ornament will reflect your spirit and the magic of the moment.
Meet Shelley Blain Reimer: Art Guide
Shelley grew up on Bainbridge Island, right in the heart of Puget Sound across from Seattle Washington. Memories of walking to the Lynnwood Theater, the local mart for an ice cream sandwich and lazy summer days splashing around at Pleasant Beach sparked Shelley’s love and her awe of the water’s edge. As an adult, beach strolls, trail hikes and regular swims in local lakes and regions of the
Puget Sound continue to be the main source of inspiration for her mixed media artwork.
Surrounded by woods and water, Shelley is inspired simply by standing outside and soaking in the beauty all around in the trees, leaves, rocks, shells, waves and the sky. This art exploration journey Shelley is on brings joy and healing to her life and
she wants to share it with you!
